What would you say you are most optimistic about for the future of Carrigtwohill?
“I suppose for want of a better word, we are in queer times if at the moment, you know and just as an example, this time last year it was just after Covid was announced and people said, six months we’ll be grand, by God we'll be grand again you know, I know after a war they claim to fix everything, and you know there's a vaccine on the horizon and all that kind of thing but we don't know long term what's going to happen you know, you just don't know so it's very difficult to be optimistic about things, but I'm sure, you know, I'm sure Carrigtwohill will manage if not better than before.”
“But this seems like, seems to be more serious than previous pandemics, it's affecting people's livelihoods, it's a difficult question to answer but I would think that, you know, optimistically it will change that you know, we’ll be ok but it will take some time, probably take three to four years, maybe five years, before things get to a proper level again, to where we were to catch up.”

“I think it's becoming very inclusive, I think there's people from everywhere and it used to be something that wasn't that common, but now I’ve been here nearly 20 years, my husband has been here for longer than that, and from when he came in the 90s, and he says that he was the only Spanish person in the whole village, and not hearing different languages was strange, but now kids are growing up either to see that there is a Spanish heritage month and European heritage. I think that's a really good thing that's kind of growing and they're becoming part of that community.”
